Just bought my first 911, a 71 2.2E Targa.
The car came without a front Targa bar seal - the one that fits around the front edge of the Targa bar, and seals against the top and windows. How does this seal attach? Pelican lists some rivets, but I don't see a place for them on the bar. Am I missing brackets or something? Nice car! Use the Search button to gain information on this well-worn topic (not that your question is out of line!).
Do not be discouraged with what you will read: the correct seals are NLA and so you must confrom the new ones to your car (my SC as well, BTW). John

This is not good news, I take it. I've got a seal en-route from Pelican right now.
There are no more OEM seals available? Hmmmm. Was it a lot of work? -Rusty |

The front bar seal fits fine. This is actually the most rearward seal, it goes on the "front" of the rollbar. Is this the one you are referring to?
It's the windshield frame seal that people have trouble with. You can get the rivets from Pelican. They go into 4 holes in the seal and rollbar.

I need to install the rearward seal... at the targa bar itself... at the back of the car. Mea culpa for not being more specific.

That one will work fine. Getting the rivets in is a real PITA. Sand them down to a smaller diameter and use some soap or grease.
