Swb rear crossmember the bit w/ turrets
Rust claims another piece of bodywork on my 68S.
Can I backdate a lwb crossmember for swb car? Better to replace with section from a dry state donor? Or refabricate the strut turrets? Thanks Rich |

Buy a solid crossbar mount and replace the rubber inserts. I went with Wevo and I am very happy. You send them the crossmember and they for the new mounts in.

Pete I think he means the shock mount.
For a 68S, yes, replace with donor section. For the LWB cars the mounts are different and they change after 1972 as well, the turrets get larger. How is your torsion tube?

Have replaced tube and repaired chasis with longitudinal repair panels.
Old tube was mostly held in with sealer, rust and a square iron section welded to the rear kick panel that connects seat pressings to the floor. Yikes. |
