Seat Compadibility???

I have 1975 911s that currently has seats from a 944 in it.
The seats have manual forward and back adjustment, and manual backrest recline adjustment. The drivers seat also has power buttons on the side that are non functioning. The seats are vinyl bolsters with Porsche script fabric in the middle.

The problem with the current seats is that the foam is shot and it makes my butt tired after driving, the fabric portion is also kind of dirty, but could easily be cleaned.

I have looked into new foam, but the only place I could find that sells foam wants $1200 for just the foam per seat. Add new covers and labor and i could buy new seats.

Question:
Can seats from a 993 ALL POWER fit the rails currently in the car???
The owner of the the new seats says there are NO MANUAL adjustments on the new seats.

Am I asking for trouble trying to shoe horn new seats into and older car???
Can my local upholstery guy just replace the center seat bottom foam and recover with new vinyl???

Do I really need new $600 seat bottom foam, or can my upholstery guy make due using his foam. FYI my upholstery guy gets cars from all over the east coast, and told me to look into the foam issue.

Many Thanks

you can get a seat guy to make bottom foam ... at 600 you are paying the porsche tax ...

some things we all agree to pay the tax ... some are a personal choice ...

I would not ... the power seats should be an issue of running a power wire as the seat controls are self contained in the seat ...

I would see if the seats look right in the car ... some seats look wrong .. just wrong ...

Point taken about the "look".
I'm trying to keep the car more or less period correct.
I guess I should put the money towards the right seat covers with perforated middle and let my upholsterer worry about refoming the seat middles as well.

I'm not paying the Porsche tax for stink'n foam!!!

yes you can fit 993 seats, power or manual, in your car. they will bolt right up. here is a set in my 83.

if you are going with power seats you will have to run power/ground to them. i suggest using 12g wire and a 20a fuse near the battery.
