Question About 930S Steering Wheel
I love the look of the 930S steering wheels that are so popular on this board, and mean to get one to replace my stock 4-spoke wheel (89 3.2).
However, I'd like to know more about the history of the wheel. Was it originally used in a production model 911? If so, why does it need a spacer to position the rim far enough from the dash? Wouldn't the wheel have the right amount of dish to begin with? And is there any reason to try to get the Porsche OEM version of the wheel instead of the AJ USA version?

I bought the one from AJ and think it is great. I know a lot of members are happy with the AJ wheel.

The 930S steering wheels that many 911 owners install in their cars are probably all aftermarket items. Porsche first used the wheel in the limited production (was it 80 cars built?) 1993 911 Turbo S with a 381 HP 3.3 engine. The 968 CS also had that type of steering wheel.
A friend of mine got his steering wheel from Cargraphic recently and is very happy with the build quality. |

Buy from Pelican and support the board. Prices overall are more than cometitive.
