gauges resto from NHS - Nice Work

Just got my gauges back from North Hollywood Speedometer. The detail is incredible. I had them reface the gauges, replace the glass, LED conversion for lighting, SWB brackets, and install the Parrot display in the tach. Much thanks to these folks.

I had 2 minutes to waste, so I looked it up: 1971 Restoration Porn II. Ultimate hidden stereo.

Pretty neat little set up!!! I am jealous.

George found it. It just takes the mki9100 display and incorporates it into the gauge. I think only the tach is big enough for it. I think in the grand scheme of things, it was a small price at NHS. Plus the cost of the parrot. I have one in my 2005 Audi S4, and it's a nice system for cars that don't already have Bluetooth and iPod connectivity.

I deleted the clock. Just found it to be redundant. What do you fellas think?

Now you have a nice spot for the intake Boost Gage. I use the "good citizen" radar speed checks to quickly verify my speedo calibration. Lots of those in the areas right before the speed traps here.

Don,

This is one of the coolest things i have seing on an early 911. Question, you handle everything thru the parrot or the radio ?

I might have them do the same set up

The radio is still controlled by the radio. When you switch it to the parrot system it controls the phone, the ipod, the phone, pandora, etc. If you are listening to the radio and the use the phone, it goes back to the radio automatically. I am in the hunt for decent old school am/fm radio.

BTW, North Hollywood Speedo must do this somewhat frequently, as they really didn't need any instruction from me - they knew exactly what I was talking about and how to do it.

Test fitting my new wheel. Got the JWest eccentric adapter. Not sure I'm going to like it, but it seems interesting.

They did mine too - to make them more look like early gauges...

NHS does great work - I too found the clock a little redundant - although now I wish I'd made a split gauge with CHT and transmission temp... Oh well - I have a cool VDO temp (outside) gauge

Nice look on the clock replacement. I run thru the desert SW sometimes and the trans temp & a volt meter would be nice. I went over the top on the trans cooler so why not get a temp gage for the trans? The clock is nice but you get there when you get there.

I put the JWest on a couple weeks back and it makes it much easier to see the gauges and to enter/exit the car. As for driving, I did not notice it at all. Great upgrade!
