speedo repaired, Rebuild but doesn't work - any input appreciated ,

Does the trany need to be removed to replace the speedo puck? Mine is missing a magnet I'm told. Speed off like 10%.

Hi Rich...I personally really don't know but I'm pretty sure that you would have to pull the transmission as they are mounted on a separate ring... If so, I think that if it was mine, I would likely live with it being 10% out.

As a matter of interest to you, I have friend who uses his GPS for a speedometer. Claims that it is very accurate so maybe a Garmin or whatever brand might give you the best of two worlds- A GPS and a speedo.
