Clamps for Intake Runner Boots

I can't find anyone who carries the clamps for the Intake runner boots on my 76 2.7 CIS. Will standard stainless steel hose clamps do the job?

Try aircraft spruce for the non cutting variety of hose clamps.

Or these ones from our host!
Pelican Parts - Product Information: 999-512-267-02-OEM

Listed as 80-83 in the catalog but when you go to the more info page and look at drawings it shows your year.

Edit: NLA.... DOH!

Sorry I asked mr Senior Advisor I have not seen them yet so I didn't know if there was anything special about them. Next time I'll check in with you before I ask any more stupid questions.

Ouch!
Can't we all play nice...
Personally, I would look for the non cutting variety so you don't get a vacuum leak in a couple of years.

Thanks Timmy, I appreciate the constructive advice. I've already located the aircraft clamps per your suggestion.

Make sure you get ones that be tightened with a screwdriver. They are a bear to get at in the car if you need to and I can't imagine using the ones with a wing nut/thumbscrew thing.

Thanks. good advice. These are the ones that I bought from McMaster Carr. I wouldn't want to take everything apart again because the standard hose clamp cut into the boot and caused a vacuum leak.

Stainless Steel Smooth-Band Worm-Drive Hose and Tube Clamps

Choose these clamps when you want an economical alternative to Type 316 stainless steel. Clamps are reusable and have a smooth band with rolled edges to prevent them from cutting into hoses and tubes. They’re ideal for use with silicone hoses and tubes. The band is 3/8" wide and 0.024" thick. Temperature range is –40° to +350° F. Clamps meet DIN 3017.

Type 430 stainless steel clamps have a Type 430 stainless steel band and housing and a zinc-plated steel screw. Tighten with a slotted or Phillips screwdriver, or a 9/32" (7 mm) hex nutdriver. Torque is 20 in.-lbs.

Type 304 stainless steel clamps have a Type 304 stainless steel band, housing, and screw. Tighten with a slotted screwdriver. Torque is 26.5 in.-lbs., unless noted.

Note: When choosing a clamp, measure the outside diameter of your hose or tube with the fitting installed.

McMaster-Carr

How many intake clamps do you need?

Matt,

Sent me your address and I'll have them shipped to you. I'll be home tomorrow after being away for 4 weeks. How many clamps do you need? Please advise.

Tony
