Where can #1...
be located on the distributor cap on my 75 2.7? Archives produce relatively no information.
Is it just to the left of the dist clip on the side next to the fan? |

Look for notch in edge of base of distributor; then the tower on the cap that lines up closest to this is for no.1 wire. Jim

The timing mark is approximately 90° counterclockwise from the mounting ear and vacuum retard mechanism ... as circled in the pic below:
