80 sc cluthc cable

After a good deal of struggle and some bad language, I was able to get my rebuilt pedal cluster back in the car. I am having a difficult time fitting the clutch clevis back over the clutch cable arm in the pedal cluster. No matter how much I push and cuss, the clevis does not want to go onto the cluster arm. Should i open the clevis up some to ease the process. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Beany

1. If the clevis/cable comes up short, disconnect cable at back of car.
2. If "1" is not the problem, be sure that the new cable arm bushing is not to wide, and is properly centered.
3. If "1" or "2" are not the problem, loosen the clevis jamb nut so that you can turn the clevis back and forth - this will allow the clevis to move enough to prevent it from getting hung up.

80 sc cable

Thanks for the help. I was able to get every thing hooked up. Tomorrow I plan on adjusting the cable and hopefully getting off the jack stands. It has been a long ordeal. beany
