Free DME Tuning Program

I have written a program to help the ROM hackers among you to more easily edit your fuel and timing maps, as well as investigate other info hidden in your ROM. It is available at:

http://www.mskar.org/dme_tuning_software.html

This program was originally inspired by several Pelican threads, including:

Hack and program you own Motronic Chip

Thanks to SteveW, Thomas Owen, Chris Bennet, and Doug Boyce for the research and debugging assistance.

Did I mention it was Free?

I posted some stock ROM dumps to the same area, realizing that everyone might not have one handy and the software is pretty unspectacular w/o something to edit.

I should really zip it anyway, check back in about 10 minutes, hopefully you'll fare better with a .zip

This is a very nice effort. I do have a question though. The ignition map for an 87-89 does not have the same rpm step as the distrial generated map . Does anyone know why?

Also it would not end cleanly on my WIN95 machine. Not a big deal, just a bug.

Greg,

We noticed this error from the beginning, and it was solved this morning. The 1x12 matrix on the bin file which was originally thought to be the RPM matrix, was found to be actually the 1x12 matrix for the load values, something we were unable to locate previously. That was my previous bad, for I told Marc it was the RPM matrix. Another 1x12 matrix was located just prior to that which is the actual RPM matrix. Marc will be correcting this soon and is releasing an updated version next week.

This is an outstanding effort by Marc, something that all of us worked on in our spare time between our full time careers and businesses we run. We expect to find bugs in the program and welcome any comments or input about any errors found in the current development of the software.

Steve

Yep, told you there were likely some bugs! The offsets I am currently reading the rpm and throttle labels from are incorrect. This is a display bug only, so you should still be able to create valid output files. Thanks for the feedback!
