signal light/switch issues

82 SC
Sometimes I have to engage the switch a couple of times before the signals will work. Sometimes while waiting at a light the signals will flicker and buzz, seems to be affected sometimes by the position of the steering wheel. This switch is about four years old (not sure of the brand). Sounds like the switch is probably the culprit but does anyone see something else that I might just be missing? The car has a Dino wheel on it and the cancellation rarely works, can't see how this could be a factor. Just asking before I start changing out parts.
Thanks guys
Mike
