need photo of front trunk area...

My 70 S has a jumble of clear vinyl hoses (5/5" diameter) with "T"s and other connectors all over the place. A large box (5"x8"x10") which I presume is a charcoal filter is up front by the single battery on the driver's side. Anyway, if anyone has a reasonably stock trunk, I would love a photo to get mine back in order. I'm sure most of this hose is non-functional.

thanks,
Michael

I went out to check my 70t in the dark and got a few- (hopefully that these are all of them), and assuming the EVAP systems are the same:

1. Two large hoses from the front canister(?) go under the front panel board- I'd assume the long one is in the front-and they both go to the crankcase/intake.

2. Small hose on the canister goes to the FL fender on the top.

3. Medium hose under that on the fender goes forward to a "T"ne goes back into the fender, and the other one goes into the back of a black box (they had that tech back then? where's the super secret turbo switch?) located under the panel behind the FL hood shock.

4. The front medium size hose from that box goes to the top of the tank.

It was pretty dark and I couldn't see much, but I think this is accurate. Also I believe(from the P.O) that I have a 22.5gal tank but the routing should be the same

Thanks John. That was helpful. Anyone else - with a photo or 2?

Michael

Brett Johnson's "guide to authenticity" book has a nice diagram/illustration of that system...sorry I don't have a digital camera, but Tom was accurate. The "black box" is hollow, and sealed...if any cracks in it, you will smell gas with every fill-up.

Michael,

Here is the 1970 Evaporative Control System:

It almost made sense back then!

Wow, thanks Warren! Where did you find this? I have the 1969/70 Porsche Service Manual and Parts manuals and couldn't find this?
