New A/C question

Now that I have cold air coming out. I have the feeling it does not matter how cold the air is, that I will never get the inside of my Targa cool because there is not enough air flow. If I use a Hurricane fan motor can the fan itself produce more air flow without stalling out?

What happened with the other thread now that you are blowing cold air?

Did you answer this?

Once you re-test, JAR0023 provided you a link to the temp/press chart for ES-12a; that's a good start.

You're probably right, likely too much refrigerant. But at this point it's only a guess because you don't have an accurate/reliable/comparable baseline of low/high pressures due to your testing procedures.

If you read the Envirosafe literature, they say (by weight) ES-12a replaces R12 at a .33 (1:3) ratio -- one ounce ES-12a for every 3 ounces R12. My stock system specifies 39 ounces R12, which would equate to 12.87 ounces of ES-12a (barely over 2 cans). Do you know the refrigerant specification (by weight) for your system?

Nice. I didn't notice he had been banned, as I have him on ignore.

Anyway - back to the question.

Yes - the hurricane fan makes a difference. I put it in my Targa (in Houston) and my air blows so cold sometimes, I have to turn it down.

The other things to do - install the Kuehl switch, so you don't have to worry about the 3 speed fan. Get the Kuehl adjustable center vent, and put it where the "bowtie" used to be. Then you can direct the flow better.

If I ever get motivated, I'm going to get the windows tinted. That big back window is like a greenhouse. That should help a little more.

Make sure your evap box is sealed and make sure the bottom of the evap core it is clear from fuzz. I can't remember if you put a new one in so that (fuzz) may not be an issue.

Hurricane make a huge difference in hot climates.

For me it makes the most difference when you have a heat soaked car that has been in the sun. taking the car from a garage and doing a road trip at speed, its not as needed. stop and go, parking lots, heat soaked cars, its REQUIRED.
