SC distributor rotor query

Hi folks,

Not exactly an exciting topic, I know. But I've had my 1980 Euro SC a couple of months ago, and have been performing what I like to think of as a 'progressive service', along with sorting out some of the previous owners' little eccentrities...

The other week I went to replace the distributor cap and rotor, and discovered the PO had put a 930 rotor in there instead of the SC one.

A search here turned up nothing (assuming my search terms were good ones).

Would he have had any good reason for this? Or was he just confused?

I did notice a local (Sydney, Australia) supplier of classic 911 parts had the 930 rotor in stock, but not the SC one, and wondered if the PO just couldn't be bothered to order in the correct one from the States.

The car ran OK with the previous rotor, by the way. But with the new distributor cap and rotor is idling more smoothly, I think.
