CIS Intake Runners How Tight Should They Be?
Hi all,
Just removed my CIS to get clearance to remove the breather cover and a couple of the intake runners pulled out from the airbox when I lifted the CIS off. I am assuming that shouldn't happen. Also how soft should the rubber between the runners and the airbox be so I can determine if I should replace them. Cheers Bill

since you have it off, replace the boots and injector sleeves and Orings.

How long did it take to remove CIS ?

How long it took for you to remove the CIS with the engine in the car? Did you do a partial engine drop ?

NicFranc,
Full engine drop in my case and still had to use a swivel end on a 3/8" ratchet to get to the inner nuts on the intake runners. I had to lift the CIS to get the breather cover off to complete the triangle of death. I tried with a partial drop and unless you have small double jointed fingers on three hands to hold the light, mirror and wrench and like the idea of growing new skin on your knuckles I wouldn't attempt it. Cheers Bill
