Just bought 1980 911 SC. Air conditioner evaporator fan smuggler box and cooling fan under the nose not getting power. No light on console by 3 speed fan switch. Evaporator fan works if I apply 12 V. directly. All fuses look good, 12V on both sides of fuse. No change if I unplug and exchange AC relay with another at fusebox. Looking for AC wiring diagram, but just me and my multimeter for now.

I do know some of the early models had a separate relay for the condesnor fan.
I don't have wiring handy for your model. I opened a post in our forums. A Pelican community member may be able to answer your question. - Nick |

The schematic is Here.
You can start by checking for power at AC relay terminal 30 and 87 with key on. Then at evap fan speed switch terminal C. Then with evap fan speed switch turned on, depending upon which of the 3 fan speeds you select, power at L, M or H, and then move forward to the resistor pack under the RH side foot board. The original system did not have any lights to indicate the system was on, so if there is a light nearby it is either an added item or used for something else. Griff |

Thank you gentlemen. Turns out I have a bad AC relay in the passenger side of the smuggler's box by the evaporator box fan. I'm getting power to the relay, but the relay does not click or engage. When I bypass it, the fan control works fine. I'll try to find one locally (Regina, Canada) tomorrow. If not, Pelican will get another order
![]() Now I'm comfortable installing my new Kuehl package of compressor, evap motor, barrier hoses and rear fender condenser. I think I talked to you when I ordered it Grif ![]() Thx again! |

Try to find a relay that is at least 25 amps, pin out like this (very common)
