new oil cooler has too many holes?!
I have a replacement external (under fender) oil cooler (from PP
) for my 86 3.2, however it has two additional holes when compared with the old one (I have a Swiss import and believe the specs were different). One of the holes is 14mm and I intend to plug that with a sump plug and washer, but the other is 6mm? What's it for and how can I plug it? Thanks Rich [img]

I would guess the larger one is for a temperature probe to switch on the cooling fan.
No idea on the small one.

Porsche lists a plug for the 14 mm hole, but I have no idea what goes in the smaller one.
Part numbers for: 14mm plug: N-016-155-3 sealing washer: 900-123-007-30 |

The smaller hole is probably for the mounting bracket. I dont it goes through in to the cooler it self.
Checked: its for mounting purposes:

You think it doesn't go into the cooler? It certainly looks like it does! And what mounting bracket? The old one didn't use the same mounting.
thanks for the replies Rich

Apparently the small one is for ground and does not go into the cooler - I will check!
Thanks all Rich

Does not go through into the cooler. Does not need to be plugged.
That is the ground point for the factory fan thermo probe.
