Front Fogs on SC

Hi All,

I've been thinking of fitting some front fog lights, and wondered if anyone has rough dimensions for the factory fitted ones?

I've been quoted £150 for a set of proper Porsche ones, but I've seen a nice quality set of Hella's in my local auto store for around half that price. They look about right, but I'd like to know if they are roughly the correct size for my SC.

Cheers,

Tim.

Yes, they're about this wide, and about this tall. If you can's ee my fingers, that's about seven inches wide, and perhaps three inches tall.

Mine are forever getting cracked lenses (these guys are inches from the road surface), and replacement lenses are easy to find. I think they are about $10-12 each. I don't know about replacking cracked lenses on the aftermarket units.

Also, FWIW, I'd much rather they be driving lights. Fog lights are nearly useless, and this is coming from a guy who drives through fog every winter morning.

If you've seen Bosch Pilots, the factory units are about that size and look almost identical but are made of metal.

Go with the Bosch's--cheaper, same size, very bright. Chances are you will break one of them, so save yourself the expense of putting factory Porsche's on (which I think are made by Bosch anyway).

If you really want to look cool, you could replace the entire valence with one from a Carerra with the integrated fog lights.

I've seen the whole setup with foglights included selling for the mid-$200 range on Ebay.
