8x16 944T fuchs

Will a 944T 8x16 with 245/45's fit on the rear of my car w/ SC flares? the 7's with 225's fit fine, but not sure about the rears.
Thanks,
John

If you have the +23.3mm os 944 wheels, either the 7s or the 8s will fit in the front(usually, some folks have had trouble with the 8s in the front, mine were fine though). The 7 is fine in the back but the 8 will need ~12.7mm spacer to fit correctly.

Usually people use either the 7 or 8 with +23.3 mm os for the front and then either +10.6mm os 8s or +15mm os 9s in the back. Doesn't make a difference if they are 15 or 16

All of this assumes SC/Carrera flairs.

I got a pair of 944 8 x 16s fuchs for the back of my wife’s ’87 Carrera. She has 225-50-16s now but has run 245-45-16s w/no clearance problems. I run 245s on 8 x 16s (rain) & 9 x 16s (shaved) with no clearance problems on our SC. The 944 8’s have the extra inch mostly on the inside, so there should not be any problems w/properly installed SC flares on an earlier car.

David 2 issues you failed to mention
1st the outer edge of the 944 8 will sit ~12.7mm further inboard than the outer edge of the 911 8, this looks odd to most people, in fact there is a faction that buys spacers to move the 911 8 further outboard

2nd the inboard edge of the 944 8 sits ~125mm from the hub face, my 9.5" rim sits ~140mm from the face. I needed to move the oil lines and grind trailing arm bolts. I believe you when you say it works, but someplace between 125 and 140mm inboard from the hub face is where interference arises, of course it will also depend on the tires used.

Has anyone ever needed to move oil lines, or had problems fitting 9" Fuchs with 245/45 on SC flares? Is this EVER a problem?

The +15mm os 9x16 Fuchs fit my car w 245/5x16 tires at low euro ride height w/ no problems or mods at all. The 9.5 w/ 275/40x17 is another story entirely.
