There is a guy who did this and it was outlined in the Nov. 2009 issue of Excellence (sorry don't have a copy). I recall there being mention of the manual trans being hard to get a hold of because if its popularity in the kit car world. He was very happy with the conversion and said it wasn't horribly complicated.

When a friend's tip Boxster died we wanted to change her over to a standard. just a little research said not worth it, no way. The America may be worthwhile for enjoyment alone, from what I understand there's a special wiring harness for the tip to talk to the shifter and motor.

I have seen adds recently from LA Dismantlers I think where they advertise an entire kit of used parts to convert your 964 tip to manual...or was it 4 wheel drive to 2 wheel drive? Sorry cant remember.
