Folks:
My 85 Carrera uses a 3 wire O2 sensor, and I've read the archives on generic vs Porsche...hi / low cost options, etc. However, much like the upgrade to two-wire cylinder head temp sensors ( to gain the benefit of improved grounding)...I believe someone here has used a 4 wire ( additonal ground) O2 sensor. Anyone have any part numbers that would work for my car? ---Wil Ferch |

I recently purchased a 4-wire sensor from Summit Racing Equip. for $51 prior to getting my wife's old bimmer smogged. Part no. is CTO-02-4. It contains diagrams to adapt the sensor to many OEM harnesses.
Hope this helps, Sherwood Lee http://members.rennlist.org.911pcars |

Chrysler makes a four wire sensor that I use in my 86 Carrera. $61 at the auto parts store but you need to splice a male end to your harness.
Tweeks sells an 02 sensor for an 86 3.2 for $239.99. I wonder what it is at the dealer? A little closer inspection on the 02 sensor says assembled in USA, NTK, 5233038. It seems that NTK Technologies and NGK spark plugs are the same company. So, if you like NGK's you might just like NTK 02 sensors too. Cheers, Joe Last edited by stlrj; 08-31-2002 at 10:18 AM.. |
