May sound like a dumb Q...
One of the front lenses on my car is cracked, and I'm about to replace it - BUT - upon closer inspection I notice that the left lens reads "H1", and the right one reads "H4" How can I tell what kind of headlights I have? (I wouldn't go on model year alone trying to determine this, since my car has seen so many "modifications" over previous owners...). as always, appreciate any input

The H1 will have two seperate halogen bulbs (one for hi and one for low beams). The H4 will have one dual filiment bulb (combo hi/lo). Bruce |

Regarding the lens itself: I believe the H4's will have a "pebbled" finish on the top edge, while the H1's will be all clear.

If it turns out that you have a mismatched lens and reflector assembly ... you need to get that lens replaced ASAP with a correct one! The beam pattern will be unfocussed with a mismatched relector and lens!
