88 Carrera A/C delete, a/c air hoses???

Hey all, just finishing up my a/c delete project and ran into an unexpected problem. When I pulled the evap box out I realized that I now have air vent hoses that don't do anything. I would like to tie them into the heat/fresh air hoses to get the air flow in thew car. Has anyone done this? is there a link to past projects with some pictures?

Sorry I can't help you out, but somewhere in the archives someone has done exactly what you desire along with great pics and documentation. It's been a few years, maybe someone else will chime in...or practice your "search fu" skills. Though my A/C is gone too, I'm a windows down guy and rarely have my car out when that's not an option. Heck, I don't use the working A/C in my pickup either...I just ain't right and know it .

Some like myself have put the blower back in place with a switch to make it work, others have sourced or built a Y connector to tie the fresh air system to the a/c ducting.
Ventilation is a good search term..

Thanks for the link but my vent work is a little different. Mine has a white Y that the a/c used to use for the center vent and seems to be one piece. The Y is aimed downward so a T will not fit on the left hose from the fan to the footwell controller. I'm thinking of running a long hose from the Y to a T on the right side/drivers side and taping in between the fan and the footwell controller. I'm wondering if the fan will have enough power to run all 4 vents and the defoggers. Nice thin is my vent close off so if i need extra air for say the defroster/fogger i can just close the vents. Does this sound like it will work????

Ok this is where im at the white Y that connected the a/c to the center vent and passenger vent I got to come off it (PITA) it was stapled on. I was able to use it with a little modding to connect the center vent into the fresh air hose between the fan housing and the footwell air controller thingumbob. So fresh air to the center vent now im going to try to figure out how to get the side vents to tie into the heat for side window defogging.

If you go to the PET for 86-89's section 813 I believe the first page is the setup for a non AC car. It shows the fresh air fan feeding the manifold that would feed both side and center vent as well as the bow tie under the dash.

Hope that helps.
