Outdoor car cover cat repellent?

Does anybody have any recommendations for keeping neighbors cats off outdoor car covers?
Like a cat repellent to put on the ground around the car outdoors in the driveway between rainstorms that actually works.

I don't want to spray aerosol or pump bottle cat repellent on the cover because that would be poisening me as I remove the cover, roll it up and put it in the house, and then again while putting it back on the car.
It might damage the paint on the car too.

These are incredibly annoying borderline ferrel cats from an ignorant lazy self centered old woman neighbor that has around 15 outdoor cats that are not fixed and keep on reproducing at an unbelievable rate. There is a new batch of kittens running around every 3-4 weeks that grow fast and make more cats in a couple months.

They all have claws and they jump onto my car cover on the car every night leaving dirty paw prints all over it and they use it as a scratching post. Now the cover has a lot of stains and cat claw damage from these pest cats.

4 layer covercraft car covers are expensive and this is driving me nuts.

thanks for any help...

Mothballs and crystals work well to repel cats.

I had a similar neighbor before. I addressed that issue with a live animal trap. You can get them relatively cheap at Harbor Freight. Eliminate the problem at the source or you'll just have a more expensive cover damaged.

How about a dish of ethylene glycol (Antifreeze) under the car? Just keep it out of sight once they start dying.

if you were closer id loan out my cat getters. they love cats (taste like chicken,...) really, call animal control or get an owl decoy from tractor supply. some decoys even move...but call the land lady before they start the injections.

Please don't do what Algernon said. Yes it will be effective but will also poison other wildlife. I lost several dog to a neighbor doing this to protect his prize winning fighting rosters. My dog didnt want anything to do with the rosters he just wanted the sweet antifreeze. We had no idea why our dogs keep dying. But when we found out it was not pretty. Needless to say the guy moved. I do agree with Bristol...live trap and deliver them back to her. Tell her if it keeps happening you will call animal control. Moth balls work pretty well also.

Not around the car (dents), but my paintball gun is an effective squirrel deterrent. You know they got in my yard when they have a blue butt.

Have you looked into one of those ultrasonic devices that are supposed to repel wildlife? Humans can't hear it but they can. They find it annoying and stay away.

Where I live, that would be a 24x7x52 operation and would require an endless supply of ammo.

We are quite overrun by tree rats here as well. One was on my tool box one day, he got full auto fire. Thus began the war...

Why don't you park your car in your garage? If you don't have a garage, then maybe you shouldn't own a car. Killing cats or any animal for that matter is repugnant and you could get in serious trouble for it. You should use humane means to keep the cats off of you car.

JJ, did you read JFairman's post when you quoted it? I ask, because nowhere in it does he say he wants to kill the cats - he doesn't imply that in any way, shape or form.

As for the original post: how about a Pit Bull on a long leash?

Troll? I would hope so! LOL!

We use a natural garlic based spray to deter deer from the garden. Something similar might be available that works on cats. The stuff stinks, though and I don't think I'd want any hint of it in any car interior.
