Missing Torsion Bar/Control Arm Part?
Is the part identified in red in the following image common to all torsion-bar 911s? When I tore down the front suspension on my '76 911, I did not have this part - just the front control arm cover that has the tow-hitch on it. Where is it supposed to live? Thanks.

Those two pieces look familiar but I don't seem to have them anymore - perhaps they hold the pan that covers the fuel pump and steering rack? I don't use this pan anymore, that's why I'm thinking I removed them from my car.
They look like they may fit over the ends of the aluminum torsion bar support bracket. Chuck.H '89 TurboLookTarga, 363k miles |

they fit over the front & protect the bars, etc. - should be cheap used; check the PET

So the part circled in red sits between the front control arm bushing housing and the tow-hook cover?

See photo below for placement. I think the tow hook just uses the same 3 bolt attachments, but you need slightly longer bolts.
Car is a 72E in the photo Mick ![]() |
