Triangle of death breather leaks - and cost of new hose ($295?!)

I have my 3.2 on a stand and am fairly sure that gallons of oil have been spilled on the case and tranny from the crankcase breather hose. When I pulled the motor it seemed the hose was barely attached to the breather cover. Of course it may have been disturbed while removing the motor, but I want to be sure I address this the right way. I was shopping for the other oil breather hoses (air filter to oil tank) and they are $30 each... might as well replace them.

Then we get to the breather hose to the crankcase and its $300 bucks!???

Maybe because only Genuine Porsche parts are available?

I didn't see any problems with the hose I removed and I can just Oetiker or otherwise more permanently clamp it to the breather cover if the $300 part is the only solution. What do you all do in this area?

I would clean up the current hose, and if it looked OK, I would re-use. Just make sure that it is clamped securely on both ends. I did my "Triangle of Death" last summer and a year later all looks good. I have an 84, so your 87 hose should be fine.

that's the metal and rubber turbo only hose you're looking at. the pp catalog shouldn't have listed carrera with that number. turbo only.

I think you have the wrong P/N.

I think the hose you want is # 26 on drawing 104-01 in the PET

930.207.386.01 is the correct one I believe

Pelican Parts - Product Information: 930-207-386-01-M260

which is $33

Little tip - if you get the PET from porsche and download it on your iPad, it keeps it in your books. And then it's really handy.

Finally - I changed all of mine a few years ago. Being 30 years old, they were hard and brittle. I'm glad I changed them.

I went to my local flaps and bought a reinforced hose rated for oil for around $20.
The hose in the above post is for the top hose from the oil tank to the rubber CIS hood.

I use a generic one inch diameter braided hose as well, that's what Patrick Motorsports supplied me with along with the rest of my 3.6 conversion parts.

While we're talking oil-leaking parts, both of my cam spray/chain tensioner lines are weeping. PP only carries parts from a mfgr called "Cohline" which I haven't heard of. Has anyone replaced theirs with these and had a good experience?

I used these. 500 miles later, all is high and dry. Minor hand-bending of the small, thin hard line that connects to the tensioner on the driver's side was needed, apparently the alignment on this part changed over the years.

There was a change in parts several years ago. Especially on the left hose, the metal hose to the tensioner needs to be rebent to fit or you need to order a new one.
The difference is, the older ones have brass colored lines and the newer update is silver so you need to reshape the old brass colored drop lines to fit to the siver cam oil lines or order new matching drop lines.

Thanks guys, adding them to the order. Smoove1010 would you mind putting 5,000 additional miles on your car in the next week or so and reporting back? That'd be super.
