Clutch issue
Hello guys. Well the car has performed great in my first 2 months of ownership, untill I was attending my first PCA event last Saturday, where I started to have some clutch issues. 1980 911SC updated clutch non rubber center...
My problem started as it felt like the clutch cable has came way out of adjustment, I Started having problems getting the car in first gear, then it got where 2nd was very hard to engage, then after some more miles 3rd was hard to get aswell. All of this was during a poker rally, where the car was not under any heavy driving but it was alot of stop and go. I was able to limp the car home as I only had to drive down a straight highway with few stop lights and when I got caught at one I would shut the engine down and get first gear re fire and take off...2nd and 3rd were very hard to get into as I got up to speed but I was able to get into 4th and 5th with less issue. Ive looked at the pedal box and the clutch pedal cross shaft and all bushings appear to be working fine as well as the clutch clevis and cable all seem to be working properly....At the back of the car, everything appears to be working fine aswell, the helper spring and clutch cable aswell as where it ties into the gear box seems to be working fine also Im thinking something has given like the tension on the helper spring or maybe the cable end gave a little although there are no signs of this, I took a video of the cable working at the back of the car I will try to get this posted to see if some of you can verify its working condition... Thanks alot ---Blake http://www.youtube.com/edit?ns=1&video_id=Rt4K-g3sJrc |

Perform a clutch adjustment and make sure its all within spec, takes like 15 minutes to do.
