Need to Borrow 915 Input shaft tool or Trashed clutch pack

Hi All,

Started to break down my 915 trans for my rebuild. I have hit a wall. I cant go any further until I can immobilize the input shaft. Any one have a tool I can borrow that is local to Baltimore area? IF anyone is pitching a trashed clutch pack I could used the guts to make a tool for others. Thanks guys. Let me know if you can help me out.

Hey Toco... I made one for when I did all this a couple months ago. It works perfectly and was a little more of a pain to make than I thought it would be but that's part of the fun. You'll need the other thing too in the picture. If you want I can fedex them to you. Just cover the shipping. PM or email me and we can work it out if this will help you.

Sounds good, just let me know. Before it's too late to make a fedex pickup. I'm in Atlanta so same time zone of course. There has got to be some kind of step by step how to make one of these things here some where but I just pulled out the sawzall and drill and went to town and it did take some time for me to finally get it right so it all lined up. I used it with my vise too to get that nut off the pinion shaft as well. Assuming this is your first go at this on a 915 (based on the fact you don't already have this tool) I can suggest getting a press from harbor freight or something. That $99 purchase made life so much easier for me when I did this for the first time myself back in July.

Tony, no not selling my jig. Never know when I'll need it again. $20 here with the host like Toco said.

Robbie,

I did not realize it is that cheap and I'll order one from Glenn. I have a spare 915 transmission that I like to dismantle and play with it. Thanks.

Just in case you need one, I was able to locate an exact fit alignment tool at advance auto parts. The tool you want is for a 79 dodge colt and was about six bucks. Hope it helps. Mine is a 78 sc with a sachs OEM clutch.
