fuch's value
I'm thinking about selling my fuch's with tires and buying more modern rims They are 16X8 up front and 16X9 in back. All tires have new Kumho tires on them. just curious about their worth. OR should a just leave them on?

Are you sure about those sizes? The only 16x8 Fuchs that fit a standard-flared car's front are from a 944 Turbo. The 9's that fit in back also have a different offset than the stock 911 wheels.

Jack, thanks for the response. I'm actually not sure about the sizes. they are pretty wide. By looking at the rear tires, they are atleast 10 inches across. I friend looked at them and said Oh, 8's in the front 9's in the rear. how do I tell what they actually are?

Let me know what you decide. I am wanting to upgrade my 15X7 and 15X8 to 16"--but I have just a stock cab. As Jack stated, not sure if they will fit.

There's no way these are 6 and 7's. I can tell that just by looking at them. what's the best way to check with tires on the rims? Being an engineer, I'm real goods with numbers and measurements.

If they're 7 and 8s... I'll trade you straight across for my 17" C2 replicas...

You can tell what sizes after a while by just checking out the "depth" of the dish. 6" have a perfectly straight side profile, 7" have 1" of added were the petals meet the outer rim, 8" have 2", 9" have 3". I have also seen 8 and 9's fit narrow body 911's . The rear 9's fit no problem and the 8's generally require front fender rolling. On the topic of Fuchs, I will most likely be selling my 7" and 8" this winter in a brake upgrade project. I have looked at every scenario, but the 16" wheels have to go.

F2P,
Consider keeping your Fuchs even if you ugrade (particularly if you have 7/8 or larger) if it's financially feasible. Should you decide to sell the car, you may be cutting out a good section of buyers. I'm a big Fuchs fan, so the lack of them on a car like yours would be a detractor. A nice set of 7/8x16s go for around $1200 these days, so if that's what you have now, I'd keep them. If you plan to keep the car, then I guess it doesn't really matter. P.S. If you post a closer up photo of the wheels, many of us will be able to tell the size just by looking at them.

Exactly. Just post a couple of close-ups of the entire wheel/tire, one front and one rear. I'll wager "told you so" rights, (split w/ Island), that they are 6/7's by the photo. And your friend reminds me of an old joke about womens' measuring skills.

f2p,
This is where 7's and 8's sit in the fenders for a comparison. ![]() |

89911--
the depth of the dish of 8" vs. 9" are practically the same. The add'l one inch of the 9's are offset to the 'inside', so the outer dish/rim depth is the same. I was at Wheel Enhancement and had both an 8 and 9 on the table top, comparing the two. Couldn't tell the difference. btw a set of 7's+8's just sold on ebay this wk for $1350. my 7+8's: |

You may want to check out EBAY. There are always used Fuchs for sale. This might give you a fair idea of the market value for the wheel/tires.

I guess maybe they are 7 and 8's. The tires in the rear look like they are about 11 or 12" across. Those C2 rims are the ones I really want though.
