More Fuel Distributor Questions - Injectors Pulsing (Video)

I hate to keep asking questions but I need as much advice as I can get.

The injectors are pulsing at low fuel volume. In fact, they pulse when the car is off but the fuel pump is running - see video.

I have replaced all fuel injectors and I just replaced the fuel distributor's internal fuel pressure regulator valve. I have also replace all of my hard fuel lines with Coline Polymide fuel line (the super hard plastic type).

One more thing...the fuel pressure regulator kit came with about 20 paper thin shims. The original shim that was in my FD was about twice as thick as any of the shims so I re-used the old shim. I'm wondering how the shims work (i.e., more shims will shut off fuel or less shims).

Anyone with any advice? I appreciate your comments. I'm hoping I don't have to replace the fuel distributor. The car runs well at speed but the idle is rough.

Old vs new:

New Pressure Regulator with all the extra shims. They are much thinner than the shim that was on my original fuel pressure regulator:

Seeing as you aren't keeping this all in one thread... I can't remember all of the other information you have posted...
Pulsing fuel pressure makes me think fuel pump or pressure regulator. The fuel pressure regulator is the wur as it adjusts the pressure in the system. The internal regulator in the distributor restricts flow to a maximum level.
How good is your WUR ?

Sorry for the multi-posts. I figured it was better to start a new thread as I have solved some issues but not all.

I guess this weekend's project will be to test my fuel pressures and the WUR. The wur is new to the car as my orig was bad. I bought this one on e-bay and at the time (6 months ago), it seemed to improve the engine running problems. I did check my fuel pressures then and they were close to spec but I don't remember the exact measurements. I will check again this weekend.

Ok, just watched the video, (it wouldn't load until now.)
I would suspect your air metering plate position as a possible cause. Is it fully down in the correct position fully engaging the plunger?
If it is lifted at all the plunger will drop and allow fuel to move through the system.
Or, the change to your internal regulator is allowing fuel to flow for some reason.

Must have posted while I was typing!
Yes, definitely check the fuel pressures especially after the changes you've made.
I would really take a good long look at the lever controlling the fuel plunger to make sure it is fully engaged when closed. As you probably know, when you lift the plate the injectors begin to squeal as fuel begins to flow. It is almost like yours is right at the edge of being fully engaged thus the pulsing.
At least that is how it appears to me.
Don't test this too often as the possibility of hydro lock exists from too much fuel in the cylinders. It was hard to start after your test due to flooding.

You cannot just use the old shims when fitting a new pressure regulator. Didn't you get a manual together with the kit? The amount of shims is given (if I rember correct 3) Now you have to change them (thinner or thicker) until the main fuel pressure meets the specs.

I second the metering plate position. The metering plunger is slightly uncovering the fuel slots in the rest position in the FD. Either the mixture screw is too far rich, the plate stopper is too high or the plunger has a slight rust ridge / roller sticking. If adjusting the stopper or fuel screw in place doesn't help, you will need to remove the fuel distributor and inspect the metering mechanism.
