Porsche Crest Typical cost for 72-75 911 chassis

Can anyone give me an idea for the cost of a typical (pre-smog) chassis, preferably '72-'75? With minimal rust. With or without wheels and suspension, though I don't need the suspension. I couldn't find a typical cost in the want ads.

Thanks in advance.

With the price of the long hood 911s going through the roof, I think any chassis before 1974 will be whatever the owner wants. The 74 and 75 would depend on the amount of rust that's found as these were not galvanized until 1976.

There are no hard and fast numbers as these are not all that common anymore.

Higher than it should be in Ca, because, well, it's exempt!

Pre 74 will be a premium price due to "long hood" status. Mid year cars 74-77 are still relatively cheap. I'd suggest getting a cheap complete mid year car and sell off the parts you don't want or need. You should be able to find a rough but rust-free 74or 75 for 5 to 8 grand.

THIS is what I was looking for. Thanks Oversteer.

I think 72's would be the most based on the third door and how people love that one difference.

A bit late

I saw an early tub that was for sale a few weeks ago but was being parted-out because of lack of interest in a whole tub. The solid long hood cars (72 & 73) will be expen$ive. IMHO. Look at 74 & 75 since CA has not updated the SMOG exemption past 75. You can always register it out of state like the CA motorhomes down the street registered in Montana. Best of luck.
