I need a little help.
It looks like the controller for my rag top is broken. The roof would not open, and when the guys at the workshop swapped it with the unit from another car the roof opened without a problem. I have not yet pulled the unit form the car but I'd be grateful if anyone could point me in the direction of someone with the skill to repair the controller. thanks hg

Thanks for the lead, I've sent a PM.
I'll pull the controller out on the weekend and see if there is anything obvious.

Good idea, I think it's wise to open it up and carefully take a look. Cracked solder joints are not just the bane of our DME's, I've fixed many an automotive computer this way. In a high vibration, hot/cold environment it's very common.

Took the circuit board out and sure enough there were a few broken solder joints. Easy to see and fix. No prob since. Until I fixed it, pounding on the passenger foot board would make the connections touch and it would work for a brief period.
