911sc 1980 Interior Colors ?
Can anyone tell me the colors porsche used in my car ?
Were the floor mats a contrasting brown or the same color ? I would like to recover/replace the passenger seat as it is torn and shot. and would also like to get the original floor mats that might have come with the car. Thanks ![]() ![]()

paint looks like light blue 301 or minerva blue 304, interior was a no cost option beige/brown. beige carpets. m970 were a option, floor mats. I think the dark brown mats would look good in there, lloyds or coco type

Mats/carpet
The paint is Petrol Blue metallic. The sales ticket does not mention any of the interior colors.

I think your interior is "Cork". I have it in my 77.
BTW your 2 front seats appear to be slightly different in tone. Was one replaced?

Definitely not cork. You have the chocolate brown/tan two tone interior. The top is dark and the bottom is light. Your sun visors should be dark brown, the top of the rear shelf, door tops, dash. The seats, door panels and carpet is tan. Very nice. If your driver seat is darker, it is likely patina, mine looks similar. Other similar cars of that era would be all chocolate brown and you may find seats chocolate that would work nicely, but I think the tan is more common.
BTW, your car came with an 85mph speedo (80 and 81 only). Also, doesn't $.90 a gallon sound good! |

The car has 275K miles on it so the interior needs updating. I guess if i can't find a suitable leather passenger seat I will have to recover both. I don't know how successful a re dye job would be. ![]() ![]()

250,445 miles +++ and counting….

Good catch ! Yes the car had one owner (a good friend) who wore out the first speedometer it broke at 250,445 miles. The new speedometer reads 46,832 miles. (Yikes ! More than I originally thought) Interesting note: This car is on its original unopened engine and has no pop off valve. It also has the original non pressure fed chain tensioners. Clutch has been replaced. The car runs great and I plan on doing a bit of preventative maintenance. The car was well maintained by the same Porsche Mechanic for over 25 years. It just warmed up here in the North East and I am having a blast driving it. ( Giddy new Porsche owner here) Love this forum and all who hang here. ![]() ![]()

Petrol Blue rocks. I'm looking forward to getting a good shine on it once it warms up.

interior color
Your question has not been answered. I have the same interior colors minus the two different seats. I have found on the net conflicting info on color codes, colors available for year, and different names. I'm going to order some champange dye. All I can find in beige is beige vinyl.

Newms quote, "Definitely not cork."
LOL! My cork interior definitely looks just like yours, especially your top pic in post 1, your right pic in 7, and your "shrinkage" photo in 13. It's not anywhere nearly as orange as RDM's. I even have the type of fading you are experiencing, wherein the carpets, seats and door panels have all faded differently over the last 37 years, which is not surprising since they are different materials. The car spent its first 13 years in Florida. This is a common problem w/ photos and people's screens. Also Porsche has changed names and specs for colors over the years. And it's also possible that an all leather v a partial leather interior (like mine) might vary.

Hi, another Petrol Blue Targa here. How do you like the M&K? Considering the same for my '78.

After hours of poking around on the internet, looking for the colors of my 1987 Targa interior, I found the following posting. I am not familiar with how the SC is documented, but on my car the information is on a sticker on the inside of the luggage compartment hood and on the first page of the warranty manual.
Haab's shows PE interior code as: Special Leather With Leatherette Belt Line Material: Leathe Seats, Bolsters & Trim Colors: Champagne Dashboard, Sills, Rear Shelf Colors: Black Roofliner Colors (Leatherette): Black Carpet Colors: Champagne My interior looks to be similar to yours except for the belt line color. I do not have the Haab's book, but it is available on Amazon. Search for "Haab's Porsche" I hope this helps. |

So much bad info in this thread, I don't know where to start.
The color codes are on the invoice. You have a Petrol Blue car with a beige interior. Some of the interior fabric is leather, some of it is leatherette. The car came with the floor carpets shown in the first picture. If you want "floor mats" you'll have to buy aftermarket ones. Most people buy Lloyds mats. JR |

Would that be the alphanumeric code listed after the heading "'Color Code" = J2V935?

J2 V9 = Petrol blue
35 describes the interior. Paint and trim codes varied over the years. You have to have a list of the order codes from dealer documentation, or a list developed from that information, to make any sense of it. In some years, the codes for the interior were numeric. In others, they were alpha characters. For example, if you wanted a similar interior in 1982, the code would have been something like YH. One other thing; the 35 doesn't represent the color beige. It represents one of the interiors that used the color beige. There were at least 5, as they were offered in different combinations of materials (leatherette, leather, cloth, etc.) So the interior code conveys both the color and which panels were upholstered with a given fabric. Here's another beige interior from 1980. This one is full leather and the carpet is in a contrasting color. The code would not have been 35.

My previous 77 had tan interior, and was nice yellow color.
I got replacement seats, turned out to be 'cork' and were definitely lighter! I had them re-dyed to 'tan' and they matched beautifully!! This is before ![]() this is after ![]() hope this helps, Algernon |
