Pelican can handle an overhaul. Other options are North Hollywood Speedometer and Palo Alto Speedometer. No personal experience, but I've heard good things. YMMV.

Good luck.

I did mine myself - purchased the new gear fro ~$8. Not recommended for the meek! I've had great customer service at NH Speedo, but our guest is also an option.

Palo alto shop will charge you an arm and two legs. Real estate is really expensive there, apparently.

Vance,

I also just recently did this, but bought my gear for $25 plus shipping at www.odometergears.com - have you found a better source for new gears?

Craig - temporary brain fart. $25 sounds more like it. Thought I was talking to my wife, where I cut all my "investments" in my car by a third!

Have had multiple 911 instruments done by North Hollywood. Always happy with results. They can do pretty much anything you want done

Also DNA Speedometers in Tampa, FL... you'll prolly be able to find a place more local to you if you search around some.

Sent mine just a week and a half ago to North Hollywood. They had wrapped up fixing it before I had a chance to call and confirm they received it. I was very happy with their turnaround and I have a working odometer again.

Had mine done at North Hollywood Speedometer. They repaired and calibrated. I'm local, so I took my car in and they removed it, repaired it, and reinstalled it while I waited. Took them about 45 minutes.

I think Pelican sends the units here:

Paul's Speedometer Shop in Redondo Beach.

I've used Paul's for decades.

FYI - mine stopped late Friday after I reset the trip while pulling out of a gas station (erff)… North Hollywood Speedo was closed for the weekend or I would have taken it in based on all the threads.

Sunday as I sat very still in a parking lot, I talked quietly to the odometer's inner gears and slowly re-reset the trip to zero once more, and then I sort of pulled out the wand and slowly spun it back and forth to dislodge any 'dirt' I was imagining was frustrating the gears. To my delight the trip and odometer started up again…

Of course I have North Hollywood Speedo in my phone for if it quits again.

I did mine using a thread here for advice. Its really not that bad if you like to work on small delicate things.

One thing I did that made my life alot easier is I soldered in some additional wire lenght on the internal pigtails to make reassembly easier.

I think the gear is available from our host.
