				Turn Signal Problem

Mystified....turn signals worked fine 2 weeks ago when I started my chain tensioner upgrade. Now, kaputt! The left side goes on if the key is in the off position, but doesn't blink. Fuses are ok. Indicator lights on the tacometer are both off (although only one worked anyway). Any ideas? Owners manual worthless, only thing I can see is check all the bulbs...but would this knock out the entire lot???

Ok, checked the archives....there is a load of bad turnsignals out there...will start by checking the bulbs...what does the relay have to do with it....and it's behind the tac??

Ok...guess I'll try replacing the "relay"...understand why you call it that...I'm a bit unscientific, just call it the "blinker"....of course, this makes no difference anyway since I'm just writing to myself. So, self. If the problem isn't the relay, and all the bulbs are ok, and all the fuses are ok....could I have created a short or eliminated a ground in the engine compartment while I was digging around in it?????

Did you try just re-seating the relay? When I had problems with mine, I mentioned it to my mechanic while I was there. He pulled the oil gauge, reached in and pushed down - they fired right up. He says that the flasher relays don't go bad nearly as often as they're replaced. Emanuel
