Best way for tapping in Barrel on Wur ?

I need to adjust my warm control pressure (raise pressure from 2.2 to about 3.0). I know that I need to tap in the "barrel" on the wur "in". I'm speaking of the section that fuel lines connect to.

I'm wondering what is the best way for tapping this. I'm concerned that since it is a large diameter part, it could tap crooked. Also, can I do this with the engine running so that I can see the changes?

Thanks, in advance. I've learned so much on this board and my car is running better than is has been in years.

Vern

just did this. i used a long 3/8 extension and a hammer. itll go in straight, so dont worry bout that. i dont think it matters if the motor is running, as long as you have the FP relay jumpered and ignition on. i would test for power at the WUR and AAR connectors. the harness supplying power to those parts on my car was internally melted together and ended up shorting out and causing havoc.

Thanks,

I forgot that the warm pressure can be measured with the car off but WUR plugged in. I figure I will do this when the car has been driven so that the WUR is fully warmed buy voltage plus general engine operating temp.

it drops the pressure when you tap it in (richer), and that's just for cold and warmup pressure, not hot pressure.

I haven't tried this yet, will soon, but member JFairman uses a c-clamp to push the large disc in and says that works much better than the hammer & drift method.

I just noticed that I think I am referring to a different disc - I'm talking about the large diameter disk on the bottom of the Turbo WUR (used for making full throttle enrichment adjustments) . . .

Yes, I'm talking about the large quarter-size barrel that is for warm control pressure. I've already adjusted the "plug" for cold pressure (and will check again after I get the warm correct).

I'm not making my wur adjustable, like in the photo. But the following the direction of movement.
