Where Does This Wire Go?

Hi,
Does anyone know where the brown and red wire plugs into, and what if powers? Has anyone ever experienced this problem with their Porsche where when you give try to accelerate hard the car loses power and dies? My car is a Porsche 911 1987 Cab.

Are these wires solid red, and solid brown?

Or are they brown/white, or red/white?

Had a look at my factory manual, but nothing "jumped out" at me.

Do you have a multimeter?

If so, have a look at the potential on each wire.

God luck,

Gerry

I have the same wire, follow the wire... if it goes to the relay rack with no relays plugged in, it may be an option that is pre-wired but not ordered with the vehicle.

Jonvi88 -

Perhaps rear wiper? I looked at mine (I have a wiper) and there are no open wires, with those wires going up to the rear wiper motor. Just a guess - are you wiperless?

Well,

I can tell you that it's not:

1. The engine compartment light.

2. The optional rear fog light.

3. The E.T. light.

Good advice from redridge.

Also, do you have a multimeter?

Gerry

Thank you, the car I have is a cabriolet so I don't have a rear wiper. I was just worried about that wire because I have been having some trouble with the car when I accelerate hard, so I thought that wire might be something important. Thanks again for your help.
