Angry Need leading practices to retrieve a bolt...

My door woes continue...

Tried re-seating the vent window on my '83SC - there's two forward-most bolts that attach the frame to the door. Unfortunately, I dropped one (including the two washers) into the most excellent channel in the front of the door...you can see the one I was able to install...

Any guesses as to how to retrieve? I checked the bottom-most part of the door, but nothing there, seems like the area where these bolts go have their own "channel" and it's going to be a bear to get it out. I can't see down into the channel. See pic.

Thanks, Pelicans!

Check and see if there is a rubber plug on the bottom of the door near the front, like the later doors have. I pulled the plug and the bolt and washer fell out.

Jim - is a freaking GENIUS!

No plug present (love you, PO) but the items were right there. Smaller washer skittered across the garage floor, and now I can't find it (another story), but many thanks!

Did the same thing with my 79......the bolt will forever remain in the twilight zone.

I did it TWICE... used a extendable magnet and a borescope to get it out TWICE...
Each time it ended up stuck on the ledge 1/2 way down in a pocket as it fell.
Never again!
