Airbox clearance for throttle rod

Hello - Please tell me what you think if there is enough room for throttle rod .

Started my Bitz EFI install this week - Bought a custom stainless steel airbox - that may have a small tube in the way of the throttle rod .

right now the airbox and runners are just set in there not bolted down but the TB seems to be a little farther away from the firewall than stock location - as the throttle is 1/2 open just sitting there after i snapped the rod on there.

that may not be a good thing - as the rod looks like it has the ends pretty much spun out toward the ends of the rod already.

think there is a bend as I recall. You need a helper to press the pedal inside to see the travel both ways and also that it is not binding or not fully opening the throttle or too short as not to hit the idle switch if a 3.2

I had to shorten the rod when installing my Webb industries stainless airbox on my CIS system.
The throttle body sits a little lower than factory.
I just ran a metric tap down further on the rod on one end and cut off the excess.
I bought a spare linkage rod with ends in the classifieds in case I wanted to go back to a plastic airbox.
Good thing I did as I ended up using a plastic airbox cut down for the clean look when I installed the Bitz kit.

The throttle switch does nothing with the Bitz kit. Nice airbox. You should be able to source threaded rod if the linkage ends up short.

While in there, you might want to replace the Throttle Rod Coupler (Slop Buster) just outside the tunnel. Part # 911-423-081-02-M260 1983 Porsche 911 SC Convertible - Fuel System - Page 5

I just went trough a Pedal Cluster refurbishing, fixing the crank at the pedal and replacing the Coupler. Well worth the effort, now there is no loose in the linkage and I got full deflection.

In my case even thought I got 2 return springs on the PMO butterflies, I still need to put an extra spring (at the transmission bell crank) to get a full return when I take my foot of the pedal.

You might want to look at this thread Throttle Linkage Adjusment, where Wayne (oh Haha): post a link on the adjustment of the linkages.
