Am I missing a sill here? or some sort of trim piece?

Guys,

I picked up a 79 a few months ago and in the process of rebuilding it.

Got a carpet kit - but wondering if it's missing some sills or something here?

The reason that crossed my mind was because I was browsing the catalog today and came across a different variety of metal sills and was wondering on where they go and how they mount.

Please offer up some advice!

Thanks,
Paul

So I need either one (actually two) of these?

Pelican Parts - Product Information: 901-551-419-28-70K-OEM

or

Pelican Parts - Product Information: 901-551-419-50-OEM

correct?

Yep. I'd suggest the black ones.

My 78SC has silver ones... I'm not sure what was correct for a 79SC.

There is "correct" and also "what looks best" with his carpet color.

imho silver goes for a G-model til end of silver window trim, believe it to be till early 76 at most.
later was black according to the standard black coatet window trim.

but: just buy what you like best.

Black window trim became standard in 1980. No idea if they made the black carpet trim standard at the same time...

Did a quick check and found factory pictures showing it up through 1985. I've also seen a picture that was purported to be of an '86 car that had the bright trim, although both of my 1986 cars had black trim.

Still think black looks better with his carpet...

My early build '86 came with the silver trim. I swapped over to black. That was the only silver trim on the car and screamed at me every time opened the doors. I've got the silver trim in a box around here somewhere. -J

FWIW...my 78 had bright sill trim as did my 84. The 78 was cork interior so the bright sill looked fine. The 84 has black interior/carpet and the bright sills I found to be annoying, they're black now....
