I have a theory. It seems most all my friends who own a Porsche also own an truck. Maybe this is because you can't haul much in your 911 that you get a subconscience need to have a vehicle for hauling things. Let's see your porsche and your truck. Doesn't have to be in the same photo, but let's see if my theory rings true.
Here's mine: ![]() ![]() Okay, that's not my truck.... this is.... ![]() |

The FJ is not really a truck, but serves the purpose of snow/hauling/towing stuff;

Nope, not for me. My other car (aka winter beater) is a 98 civic hatch. The only other car I have owned was a 91 Golf. All small cars. You would be surprised what you can hall in a 911.

I have a 1983 GMC S-15 which you can see thru. That is the acreage/beater garbage hauler. I also have a 2008 Torota Tacoma TRD which is the trailer hauler/ski machine. And a 93 Civic which is the economy run-about. Of course my Porsche doesn't actually RUN, and is in pieces in my garage.

Guilty. I actually have 4 trucks. 3 Chevy's & a Nissan Frontier. The 911 is the only car I own.

If you have only one vehicle, it has to do everything - commuting, hauling family, groceries, equipment etc. It ends up being a compromise at everything.
If you have multiple vehicles, each one can specialize. Hence the thread starter's premise makes sense. Own a Porsche, own a truck. I have a 5.5 porsches, 2 trucks.

It was suggested I define truck. I guess what I mean is OPEN AIR BED IN THE BACK and you can carry a fully assemble swing set down the road even if it sticks out the back. How's that for THE definition? Also, a 928 does not qualify for a truck, sorry. KEEP THEM COMING. So far I like the boxes in the back of a Targa window, that was good.

Where's your Porsche picture? Hey, I grew up around Redondo Bch. Got my drivers license and wisdom teeth taken out in Torrance. Thanks for your response. R.

If you expand the definition of truck to include Jeeps, vans and SUV's I bet you double the positive responses.
