Fixed Triangle Vent Window Swap

Does anyone know if I can replace the operable vent window on my Targa door with a fixed one? Thanks.

Yes, you can swap them in from a later model car.
Why would you want to though?

There are a lot of members here doing the exact opposite after removing the A/C in their cars.

Well, firstly the pivot points have more play in them than they should. Second, I like the clean look of the fixed. I'm not exactly in a tropical climate either so that's not really an issue. Just curious for now. They're down on the list of priorities but it'll be ready for paint soon. Need to make a choice.BUT, do the frames NEED to be from another targa or are coupe frames interchangeable?

Fixed frame are completely different in a coupe. Not interchangeable.

I just finished rebuilding the set of opening vent windows I am putting in my car. The rubber when worn out makes them seem sloppy. Very tight now.

I grew up in the sub-tropical zone of Winnipeg... If my old cars had them, I used vent windows from April to September..
(Of course I never owned a car with A/C until 1992, started driving in '78...)

Thanks Dennis. Great info. Its not the rubber though. Its the upper pivot where it meets the frame. Its hanging by a thread. Haven't completely torn it apart to see if its rebuildable. Thanks again.
