Removing CIS tips
I am trying to remove my entire CIS system in one piece...is that possible?
the only problematic manifold bolts look like cyl 5 and 6... has anyone done this...any tips? I don't want to take apart all my fuel injection stuff.... thanks MJ |

I think you are asking if the intake runners can remain connected to the airbox while the assembly is being removed. Yes they can.
I have done this, and put it all back together as a unit. No special tips for you, some of the bolts are hard to reach but all are doable.

It's a snap...when the motor is out of the car.
I saw it removed in one piece (at Superman's engine drop clinic) with my own eyes. When it's sitting on the work bench, it looks like a big insect. A real big insect!

well the engine is on the ground...
and it is 2 pesky bolts...I think it is doable with the right extensions and such.... but I've given up for the night...will finish tomorrow MJ |

Make sure you account for every nut and washer BEFORE you start to lift the runners off!!!!
It was'nt fun fishing the one washer I missed out of cyl number4 with the engine still in my car!!

It's much easier to do if you do a partial engine drop by removing the rear engine mounting bolts and lowering the engine about 6".
