Tire Size Question for 17's

Going to run 8 and 9 by 17 with 32mm front and 19 mm rear offset. Standard body 87 Targa.

I am zeroing in on the Conti DSW's. I use the car three seasons. I drive it so yea I see rain sometimes. I didn't want summer only tires.

Whats sizes are people running with those rim spec?

My though is 225/40 up front, and either 245/45 or 255/40 in the rear.

Anyone with thoughts, suggestions, experience with those sizes, tires or anything else.... all opinions welcome.

My Lindsey's have arrived and I'll shot a couple of pictures tomorrow and post them.

Going on this car!

TIA

I went with 8's and 9's with 235 front and 255 rear.
Rear no issues, fronts required some fender rolling, 225's would have been smarter.

225/45 and 255/40 have very similar overall diameter and should be your first choice, depending on ride height, fender rolling might be inevitable as actual tyre widths vary between manufacturers

I run 225f/255r on 17x7 et 23.3 / 17x9 et 15. I also run Dunlop Z2 which run quite wide for their size. I run camber up front, but fit with no roll, no rub.

For 3-season tires, the reviews on the new Michelin Pilot A/S 3 look like they might be a better choice than the DSWs. A friend with a Boxster S has them, claims they are awesome rain tires, yet they feel similar to the summer-only tires they replaced. I'm getting a set in the next few weeks (when my Fuchs get back from re-finishing).
