What next?

We'll I recently sold my 82 SC and soon it will be on its way to the new owner in Holland. So I have been pondering what I want next, have looked at an 05 997 C2S, an 01 996 TT and an 00 Mk1 GT3. All really great cars in their own right and who knows maybe the GT3 will be a collectible one day...
Anyway after a lot of soul searching I have come to the conclusion that I am an air cooled guy and always will be so I think I have made my decision. That is to buy an older coupe something 80's most likely as there is limited availability here in South Africa and build a car which I really want. It will most likely end up an RSR /Singer style rear end, an almost RSR style front end, a spartan custom designed interior (must have AC though). As far as a motor goes I would like a 3.2 massaged and carbed with PMO's mated to a G50. I am unsure of what HP I can expect but will be reading the engine rebuild section for ideas. This will be a long term project as I want every detail to be perfect. I know there will be purists out there who will disagree with my ideas but you know what this will be my car for me and if anyone does not like it well that's just tough. Any motor related ideas welcomed. Looking at this as a starting point.

If I'm not mistaken, those singer cars are built from 964s. It opens up to more options as far as starter cars and you get a 3.6. They're also a bargain right now.
