Current trend: Charging problems. Where can I find help how to measure S.E.V Motorola

Seems to me that quite many are having alternator/charging problems currently. I was wondering if there were any instructions how and where to measure alternator diodes in a way that one can find where is the flaw.

Bought a new voltage regulator, disassembled alternator, measured all the diodes -> VOM says they are ok. Whats next.

After I changed the voltage regulator the voltage DROPPED and now it climbs up to 12V at 2000 revolutions, but won't go any higher and and drops immediately when I take my foot off the gas pedal.

Oh, yeah, I measured the blue wire, black wire and the ground. They have continuity between alternator and voltage regulator. and resistance is optimal (0.6 ohms), so they are ok. All these wires have new connectors, I even tried to connect the alternator lamp directly from the car battery, still nothing.

The light just stays on.....
