Maybe not the only one, but there may be few enough of you to qualify as an endangered species. I did keep my scoops when I removed them, but would be hard pressed to imagine why I would want to go back to them.

Mine are the H4 upgrade, so at least they aren't sealed-beam.

Relayed, I like the light they put out.

My scoops had 7" Hella H4s in them when I got the car. I'll admit the light output difference is negligible. I swapped to Euro H4s strictly for looks.

I am of the kind who never took to the looks of the US style sugar scoops. That is not what Porsche intended for their 911 cars. Even my 1968 911, imported from Germany, had H4 style headlights, smoothly fitting into the fenders:

I always thought the sugar scoops to be aerodynamically inferior, creating a lot of unnecessary air resistance. That is why I changed my '79SC sugar scoops to Euro H4's.

I think it's funny in the picture showing the combo of the two lights, how the Euro H4's make the car look more alert like it drank too much coffee, but the sugar scoops make it look like it had just smoked something recently de-criminalized in Colorado.

I swapped mine out last week. What a difference in how the car looks! Who cares if there's more light

City Lights!

Looks good montauk!

So, this weekend I created the jumper wires and set up the city lights with LED light bulbs. These look a lot more blue in the pictures than they do in person. In person they look white with a slight xenon tint at some angles.

First, make the jumper wires:

Two females on either end of the long wire, one male on the short part of the Y. Also, here's the LED light bulbs

LED and the stock incandescent bulb, in the base:

This brown female ground wire was taped back, in the harness. All you have to do is remove the tape and pull the wire free and here it is:

Driver's side: now disconnect the black with grey line wire (it's in the single weather sealed plug housing). This is where the jumper wire will go:

Jumper is connected. Now you're ready to connect it to the light housing.

Next up is connecting the jumper and ground to the H4 headlight housing...

...continued. Now connect the ground to the base, and the jumper to the back of the bulb.

Here's the little LED light, mounted in the headlight housing:

Aaaaaand LED city light on the driver's side! It looks really great and modern.

Here's the final install on both sides. Again, it doesn't look quite as blue in person, but gets picked up as more blue with the camera.

I went with Montauks look on my guards red 930. Didn't want a guards red car but bought one anyway. I like it better with chrome trim rings and h-4s. I'm looking for other ways to break up all that red. Shark fins help. May chrome the window and windshield trim.

OK, here's a question - do the sugar-scoop H4s have city lights?

I can't tell on mine.
