Window Winder Problem

Hi All,

I have had my car for around 7 years now and in all that time my driver side window has not wound down properly! Well today I say "No more". It is time to fix all those niggly things so I can enjoy my car even more (if possible).

But to do so I need your help on this one.

The problem is when I wind the window down, from the fully closed position, the front part of the window moves down but the back part of the window doesnt move as far (or alternatively the front moves too far and the back is moving normally). See the two pics below which show the front and rear of the window when I wind it down.

Looking inside the door the first picture shows what the guide/rail (what is the correct name?) looks like when the window does not wind down properly

And if I push on the rear of the window to get it to the same level as the front, the guide/rail looks like this

At this point the window winds down okay. So the problem appears to be that in the first part of the window movement, the mechanism at the rear isnt moving sufficiently (or the mechanism supporting the front is moving too much).

Any ideas on how to solve this?
