CV Joints in an '85
Can someone let me know if the CV joints need to be replaced or fixed somehow on my car? See the video below:

The play in the transmission flange that you were moving is normal. I couldn't see if there is any play in the joint itself. The end play is also normal. The length of the axle must be allowed to change when the suspension moves up and down.
Grab the axle and try to twist it while holding the CV joint. You should not have any noticeable play in the rotating direction in the CV joint itself. Are you getting clunks or grinding noises when you drive?

Remove the wheel and check the torque on the axle nut. Looks like you have play there.

Everything you have shown is normal play. However , there is no harm in pulling them off for a refresh. It's a messy job but worth the peace of mind.

+1 Normal just replaced mine last year. Did not feel like re-building them, Got new GKN's. I went under a low mileage 3.2 and found the same OEM slop.
One thing, I noticed you do not have CV crimps for the end of the boot. You can zip tie or better yet go to your FLAPS and get some metal ties for extra measure.
