Front IROC Bumper Questions

I have been considering the IROC front bumper for my SC. The more I look at it, the more I like it. I do have a few questions though.

I was under the impression they used stock lights from 74-89, is that true? If that is true, the stock setup uses 2 lights per side (side markers and blinkers). It appears to have only one light per side. No side markers (parking lights)? Are they side markers and blinkers together? If not, is this setup street legal?

The picture I have attached (not my car) uses the brake duct holes as fog light locations. Anyone have an idea what fog lights this car has installed?

Thanks in advance.

Can't answer your question, but I just noticed that you lose the side marker lights. Is that true on all IROC bumpers or just this one?

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

Pretty much all of them, I think. Not surprising since only North American cars got side markers in the first place.

Okay, no side markers, just the stock blinkers are used. So, without side markers, is it "street legal" in North America?

This is beginning to look like an option I can't take.

Yes, it's street legal. The side markers are only on with the parking/headlights which is the same with this set up.

You need a projector style without halo like this one:

You use the dual filament lights - Only the blinker part blinks - you still have the amber side lights.

Mark,

Thanks for the fog light link and information. So, if I got it right, the "stock" blinker assembly will suffice as the parking light and blinker (side marker eliminated).

Thanks.

I've not had "side markers" since I installed my IROC bumper in 1997. I only have turn signals in the front. Not saying it's legal, but I have hadn't had any issues.

I didn't mean to imply it's a big deal. Just pointing that out as I had never noticed it before. I think side markers are required in countries that use the European safety standards, but not in the US. The side markers are only on when the headlight/parking lights are on so you will lose a little side visibility at night, that's all.

Personally, I love the IROC bumpers. Love the pics!

Very nice. Love the look.

My car is not a wide-body, I have standard SC flares. What got me hooked on the IROC bumper was this car.

Side markers are pretty much a European thing. The first thing I noticed when I spent time in Europe, was that every car I saw had the little side lights on the fender.

Any install suggestions for IROC front and rear?

Just to be clear, I was talking about the side markers in the front bumper.
